Program
Hope Chinese Charter School is a Beaverton School District public school that provides a Mandarin Chinese immersion curriculum to elementary school students. The program will launch in Fall 2012, initially offering Kindergarten through first grade. One grade will be added each subsequent year until 8th grade is achieved.
The comprehensive program provides a Chinese immersion learning environment where children learn most subject matter (including mathematics, science, and Chinese culture) in Mandarin Chinese. The remainder of the day is spent focusing on English language skills. With this immersion model, children are able to develop dual fluency and literacy in both languages. Our curriculum is aligned with Oregon Curriculum Frameworks (OCF) standards for all subjects taught in public schools, including English language arts, health, mathematics, world languages, social studies, fine arts, science and technology. Full Day Kindergarten
HCCS will offer a full day Kindergarten option. Due to learning target requirements, HCCS cannot offer a half-day Kindergarten option within our Chinese immersion environment. In Oregon, full day Kindergarten is not funded by the state and requires a tuition payment.
