Admissions
HCCS is enrolling now for Fall 2012. We are offering Kindergarten through first grade for the 2012/2013 school year, and will add a grade each subsequent year. As our open enrollment period has now closed, applications are now being accepted on a first come, first served basis. Both in and out of district residents are welcome to apply.

Full Day Kindergarten Program
HCCS offers a full-day program only for Kindergarten. In Oregon, full day Kindergarten is not fully funded by the state and requires a tuition payment. HCCS Kindergarten tuition for the 2012/2013 school year will be $4,950. A limited number of scholarships are available for families who qualify for financial aid. As per the Beaverton School District requirements, incoming Kindergartners must be 5-years-old by September 1, 2012. Students entering the program at Kindergarten do not require any previous Chinese language skills.

First Grade Program
Children entering at first grade will be immersed in Mandarin Chinese for Math, Science, Social Studies, and Chinese language arts and culture. For more information or to speak with a staff member about our Chinese immersion learning environment, please contact our office.

Out of District Residents
Students living outside of the Beaverton School District are welcome and encouraged to apply. By law, HCCS must offer priority first to Beaverton School District students and siblings of students already attending if a lottery is required.

Application Process

1. Complete the Application Form and mail to:

Forms postmarked by January 20, 2012, were included in the first enrollment period. Applications are now being processed on a first come, first served bases, based on date received.

2. After January 20th, HCCS will process the applications from the first enrollment period, and notify families of their application status by February 20th, 2012. For applications received after Jan 20th, HCCS will notify families of their application status within 4 weeks.

3. If there are not enough slots for all of the applicants, a lottery will be held by February 6th, 2012. The lottery procedures are described in the HCCS Admissions Process document.

4. All families who submitted application forms will be notified of their status by email or by postal mail (if email is not provided). Students who are accepted will receive a welcome packet along with the HCCS Registration Form. Students who are waitlisted will be notified of their number on the list, and notified if an opening becomes available.

5. Application forms will continue to be accepted past the enrollment window. If forms are postmarked after January 20, 2012, the applications will be processed after the lottery (if required) has been held.
